Michael Jackson converted to Islam — reports

Michael Jackson had converted to Islam, according to reports in the Middle East.



The singer’s Muslim brother Jermaine claimed the “Thriller” hitmaker had taken interest in the religion since Jermaine converted in 1989. Michael had been considering converting since 2005.

Muslim funeral customs call for a body to be buried as close to the time of death as possible. The family is discussing funeral arrangements.

    Jackson "converted to Islam in a ceremony at a friend's house in Los Angeles. . . .

    According to The Sun, the ceremony took place while Jackson, 50, was recording an album at the home of Steve Porcaro, a keyboard player who composed music on his Thriller album.
